Dr. Mercedes Phan, DDS, Pasadena Dentist

Dr. Mercedes is a proud Houston native who has demonstrated dedication and academic excellence from an early age. She completed high school in just three years before attending the University of Houston, where she completed her undergraduate and prerequisite coursework. At just 19 years old, she was accepted into the Dalhousie University Faculty of Dentistry, where she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) in 2023.

After graduating, Dr. Mercedes returned home to Houston to join her father, Dr. Minh Phan, at their family dental practice. As a general dentist, she combines her clinical training with a deep commitment to patient-centered care. Although she grew up around dentistry, Dr. Mercedes experienced significant dental anxiety herself as a child. That personal experience has strongly shaped her philosophy of care. She approaches each patient with empathy and understanding, taking time to explain procedures step by step so patients feel informed, comfortable, and confident throughout their visit.

In 2025, Dr. Mercedes married her longtime best friend, Dr. Michael Phan, a medical doctor specializing in Internal Medicine. Dr. Michael also works and serves the Pasadena community at Kelsey Seybold. Together, they strive to educate and treat their patients in their community with compassion.

Dr. Mercedes is proud to serve the community she grew up in and values building lasting relationships with her patients. When she is not in the clinic, she enjoys traveling, exploring cuisine, lifting weights, and dabbling in the fine arts.
