Healing Hurt People-Chicago (HHP-C) is a hospital-based violence intervention program (HBVIP) launched in August 2013. Through assessment, psycho-education, intensive case management, group therapy, and mentoring, Healing Hurt People-Chicago helps youth who’ve been violently injured, so they can heal both physically and emotionally.

At Perfect Smile Dental Spa, we had the opportunity to volunteer our professional dental care to the young adults of Healing Hurt People-Chicago. We closed our office for the day to provide thorough examinations, radiographs, and prophylactic cleanings for each young adult by our caring hygienists. We educated them on proper oral hygiene instructions and dental care. Dr. Dinkha was able to remove decay and provide resin-composite fillings for them as well that same day. The kids were so grateful and full of joy to be at our office. We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to bring a smile to these young adults’ faces while helping Healing Hurt People-Chicago. They were an amazing group and we hope to be able to help in any way we can in the future.
