Meet Michael Shannon, DDS, MS

Dr. Michael Shannon is a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (Board
Certified) and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Mike completed his
Pediatric Dentistry Residency and masters in science at the University of Texas Health Science
Center at Houston part of the world renowned Texas Medical Center. He attended dental school at
The University of Texas Dental Branch at Houston. Dr. Mike completed his undergraduate studies
at Pepperdine University in Malibu, where he was a member of their 1992 National Championship
Men’s Volleyball Team. Since completing his pediatric dental training Dr. Mike has worked in
private practice, as well as served as a faculty member at the University of Texas Dental Branch
at Houston.
Born and raised in southern California, Dr. Mike opened his practice in 2007. He resides in San
Clemente with his wife Samantha. They have two sons Spencer and Owen. Spencer is currently
studying Business Communications and playing football for the University of Texas. Owen is a
senior at Mater Dei High School and will be studying and playing baseball next year for the
University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Mike enjoys spending time with his family, working out, and fly
fishing.
Dr. Mike is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the California Society of
Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, and the
Orange County Dental Society.
