Meet Dr. Yi (Emily) Yuan, DDS

From a young age, Dr. Emily knew she wanted to help others. Growing up in a healthcare-oriented family and discovering her strong hands-on skills in high school, she realized dentistry was the perfect way to combine her talents with her passion for caring.

Dr. Emily earned her dental degree in China in 2009 and later moved to the U.S. to further her training, earning her DDS from the University of Southern California (USC) in 2018. During dental school, she volunteered in community programs, which sparked her dedication to children and patients with special needs. Her commitment led her to be selected as the main student doctor in USC’s Special Needs Dentistry Department.

Since 2019, Dr. Emily has focused on pediatric dentistry, serving thousands of children and families across Southern California. As a mother of two, she understands the challenges parents face and strives to make every visit stress-free and enjoyable. She holds a Pediatric Minimal Sedation Permit, allowing her to safely provide gentle sedation when needed.

An active member of the ADA and CDA, Dr. Emily combines professional expertise with empathy and compassion. At Kidz Shine Dental, she creates a fun, welcoming environment—from games in the waiting room to surprise gifts and popsicles after treatment—so that bright smiles grow effortlessly.
