Meet Mitra Marvasti-Sitterly, DMD in Weatogue

Coming Soon

I completed my pediatric dental residency at the University of Connecticut in June 2025 and feel incredibly lucky to be doing what I love every day—caring for kids and helping them feel comfortable, confident, and proud of their smiles. Since the start of my dental journey, I’ve been drawn to working with children and building lasting, positive relationships with families.

There’s something incredibly special about helping little ones feel confident and safe in the dental chair. I love creating a space where kids feel seen and heard, where visits to the dentist are filled with trust, laughter, and learning. I’m especially passionate about helping anxious patients feel at ease and watching their confidence grow over time.

I believe pediatric dentistry is more than just healthy teeth—it’s about empowering children and their families with the tools, knowledge, and encouragement they need to build lifelong habits. Whether we’re talking about brushing, nutrition, or celebrating a cavity-free visit, my goal is to make every child feel proud of their smile.

I approach every patient with kindness, patience, and genuine care—and I’m so excited to be part of a team that shares those values and puts kids first in everything we do.

Education

I was born in Connecticut and spent time in Massachusetts during my education, but I’ve always felt at home in the Nutmeg state. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and went on to complete a Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences and my Doctorate of Dental Medicine at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. Currently, I’m completing my pediatric dental residency at the University of Connecticut, where I’ve had the opportunity to care for patients of all backgrounds and needs—including those with complex medical or behavioral concerns.

Continuing Education and Professional Affiliations

I believe in always learning, growing, and staying on the cutting edge of what’s best for our patients. My background includes continuing education in nitrous oxide sedation, dental sleep medicine, orofacial pain, and even cosmetic injectables and dental aesthetics. I’m a proud member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Dental Association, and I remain committed to continuing education throughout my career so I can provide the best possible care for every child I treat.

Outside the Office

When I’m not in the office, you’ll usually find me cooking up something delicious, reading, crafting, or planning my next travel adventure. I love spending quality time with my family and my close-knit circle of friends.

I’m so grateful to be part of a profession that lets me make a difference in children’s lives, and I look forward to building relationships with the families in this community for many years to come.
