Background and Credentials

Hi, I’m Dr. Hanwool Kim! I’m so glad you’re here and considering our office for your dental care. I grew up in Virginia and attended the University of Virginia for my undergraduate studies before earning my dental degree from the VCU School of Dentistry. After dental school, I completed a General Practice Residency at Penn State Health St. Joseph Hospital, where I gained hands-on experience treating a wide variety of patients and dental needs.

As a general dentist, I enjoy helping people of all ages achieve healthy, confident smiles. Whether it’s a routine checkup, restorative work, or simply helping someone feel more comfortable at the dentist, I take pride in providing gentle, honest, and personalized care. My approach has always been to treat every patient like family — with kindness, respect, and the same level of care I’d want for myself.

When I think about the future of this practice, my biggest goal is simple: I want to be remembered by my patients as a good dentist — someone who truly cared about their health and their experience every time they walked through the door.

Outside of work, I enjoy staying active through CrossFit and spending time in the community I serve. In the past, I’ve volunteered as a dentist at a local non-profit clinic and look forward to finding more ways to give back in the future.
